Cj apparently doesn't realize that secular-atheism----which is also a
metaphysical belief system----gained significant prominence beginning
in the 1700s and spawned a whole host of unscientific ancellary
philosophical doctrines that also strongly influenced how society and
its scientists interpreted: rationalism, positivism, humanism,
scientism, uniformitarianism, and the catch-all modernism.

Because Judeo-Christian beliefs have been with us so long they have
fundamentally influenced how we view the world.

Atheism has been with us since the beginning of recorded history
though of minor importance until the beginning of its prominence
during the "Enlightenment" in the 1700s. It has held that prominence
since then.

This has hampered an
understanding of our origin as a species.

This claim isn't consistent with the history of science. Atheism and
its attendent unscientific doctrines (positivism, humanism, scientism,
rationalism, uniformitarianism) have been far more dominant influences
over scientific activity since the 1700s than religious ones. Even
though there existed significant numbers of scientists who accepted
the beginning of life according to scriptural history in Darwin's time
their objections were swept away.

Furthermore the only observable part of Darwin's theory-----minor
variation, back-and-forth, within limits-----proved creationist
thinkers of the 1700s wrong. Most creation minded scientists of that
era accepted the fixity of species.

Beginning during this time frame as well the catastrophism of biblical
beginnings of earth history was likewise swept away in favor the
unscientific doctrine of uniformitarianism.

In the realm of cosmogony, a universe without beginning held sway
contrary to the beginning favored by scientists of a scriptural bent.

I show that when we eliminate a
biblical perspective any problems in our complete understanding of evolution
disappear. On the other hand once we understand our evolution we easily see
the history that lies behind stories in the Old Testament.

As is typical of blinded atheists Cj fails to see that he and his
fellow atheists see the world and interpret observations in the light
of their own unscientific, metaphysical doctrines about the world.
Their own unscientific metaphysical doctrines guide what theories,
hypotheses and frameworks which can be forwarded for review. How
exactly do the atheists know that their unscientific guides to
learning about the material world are more truthlike than the
christian ones?

This is another question that atheists in the forum avoid like the
plague. In fact most of the atheists here refuse to admit that
atheism guides their interpretation. I've always respected Dawkins
for his intellectual honesty in this vane.
