One: pet peeve. "effect" is a noun, "affect" is a verb. E.g. "My new

Sorry, most people do abuse and confuse "effect" and "affect". But
'effect' is a perfectly good verb. For example you can not effect
(i.e., bring about or accomplish) significant changes in usage by
correcting such errors. People willfully ignore criticism!
'can not' should be 'cannot', n'est ce pas?
I can't see why. chacun a son gout (although I never understood why a
purine metabolic disease causing pain in the big toe need be
involved).
