Well, I can certainly condemn Watson's completely outrageous statement
without excuse or qualification, as have a large number of non-
creationists. It is not clear why I should apologize on his behalf or
on behalf of scientists generally. He speaks only for himself,
certainly not for "evolutionists" in general. He has been roundly and
throughly condemned by many other biological scientists.

You seem not to listen when anyone tells you this, but evolutionary
biologists do not, repeat do not, believe that because Homo sapiens
originated in Africa that the current, modern residents of Africa are
evolutionarily more closely related to the last common ancestor of
humans and chimps than are the current modern residents of Europe or
Asia or America. The only humans around, in Africa or anywhere else,
are modern Homo sapiens, and we are all several Myears distant form
the last common ancestor of humans and chimps.
