So you did manage to misunderstand again. I did point to where you
went astray. You have said that they can explain the way it behaves,
let's call it behaviour A, yet not know whether it is consciously
experiencing or not. So to their knowledge it either is consciously
experiencing or it isn't.

The issue isn't about reality changing, it is simply in regards to
their knowledge of reality, and their expectations given the two
possibilites given their knowledge.

There are not two possibilities. Their knowledge does not change this.
Your idiot belief that not knowing if the mech is conscious or not
magically makes it possibly either is what is leading you to the idiot
belief that the mech has expected behaviors in both cases.

To illustrate, assume you do not know if 5023 is a prime number. What
is 2 times 5023 if 5023 is prime? What is 2 times 5023 if 5023 is not
prime?

5023 is in fact prime. 2 times 5023 is *not* 10046 if 5023 is not
prime because there's no such thing as "2 times 5023 if 5023 is not
prime".

When you did not yet know whether 5023 was prime or not, that did not
magically make 5023 possibly non-prime, and it did not make 10046 the
correct answer to both questions.

Not knowing if mechanism X is conscious or not does not magically make
X possibly either conscious or not, and it does not magically make yes
the correct answer to both questions about X's expected behavior if
conscious and if not. X is in fact conscious or is in fact not. One of
the questions about A being X's expected behavior is a nonsensical
question. Not knowing if X is conscious only means you don't know
which is nonsensical.
