No Absolute Bible Refutation

Athiests are often quick to dispose of the Bible, claiming that it is
based on myths.
We note the following however. There is no hard fact of science that
proves the Bible wrong. There is no hard fact of archeology that
proves the Bible wrong. Let's take a look at some simple facts:
The Bible states that there was a world wide flood. This predicts
that there would be large-scale burial of plants and animals. You
could prove the Bible wrong if there were no fossils. Yet petroleum
and coal are excellent proofs thereof. Skeptics can only do their
best to to counter the fossil record by offering alternative
explanations for the fossil record. One skeptic said there were foot
prints to be found in every layer. Did this strike down the Biblical
account? By no means. The flood occurred in stages so we would
expect footprints to be found. Obviously animals aren't going to sit
around and get buried as waters heavy leaden with sediments were
rushing down upon them.
The Bible claims that a town by the name of Jericho exists in N.
Israel. It had houses built into the wall. The walls fell outward
allowing the Israelites to run in. The city was burnt down to a
crisp. We are told that another city was built on top of it.
Nonetheless, Garstang, following the map as provided by the Bible,
went to the area in question, dug at a mound. He found a city which
had houses built into the wall. He found the walls fallen outward.
The city was burned down and another was built on top of it. The
scarabs he found there indicated that the last one was Thutmoses III,
the Pharoah that conservative Bible scholars believe to be the pharoah
that persecuted Moses. There were no other scarabs found after that
time. Now, if this city did not exist we could claim the Bible false.
But as you can see it's there in plain daylight. So how do the
humanists try to get rid of Jericho? Kathleen Kenyon, a woman who
believed that we came from the apes, went out to Jericho. She claimed
that an absence of a certain type of pottery at the location proves
that the city is destruction occurred at the wrong time. Where is
Kenyon's fallacy? Aside from the fact that she ignores Garstang's
work, and ignores the scarabs, she argues that she couldn't find the
right pottery. She also decided to move onto other projects, didn't
finish her work on Jericho and never published her study on pottery.
Additionally, whe was criticized by her students for making
speculative assertions on site as if they were fact, misreported a
wall as being larger than it actually was, and so fourth. To top it
off, in Garstang's collection was the pottery she was looking for.
The day of darkness. When Christ died in around 33AD there was a
short time of darkness as he hung on the cross. Secular writers pass
this off as an eclispe even though that raises questions as to how it
was possible to view it from all parts of the world. Regardless of how
you explain the phenomena, it did occur.
The Rabbit chewing the cud. You may recall an intense debate in this
regard about a month ago on this forum. I basically pointed out that
rabbits poop out a substance and re-eat it. They do this at night,
which explains why some have never noticed this. But as it turns out
rabbits actually do chew the cud the way it is defined. How do
skeptics get around this? This has never been dealt with, as far as
I'm concerned.
Noah's Ark. There is a boat shaped formation some miles south of Mt
Ararat. It has 13 lines of metal patterns across the surface. It has
what looks like rib projections. Additionally radar scans show a rib
pattern. I could add more detail but I will forego that for now. How
do the skeptics deal with this? DJT dredged up a number of boat
shapes (one that looks like lake). I rebutted that they didn't have a
narrow rim, such as that you would expect in a boat. They didn't have
a pattern of iron and they didn't have rib projections. DJT must know
that the ark has to be found a location called URARTU, or Armenia.
Having written as much thus far, I can see how I'm barely covering
every issue that needs to be dealth with. For example, Sodom &
Gommorah, the circumstantial evidence surrounding the Exodus. The
pharoahs of the Exodus, Moses and his place in the exodus, the Seven
Year Famine of Egypt, the Red Sea crossing site of the Exodus and
more. It seems that the world, itself conspires against atheists.
