from another thread:

Science can say whatever it likes as long as it doesn't give a definite
conclusion without supporting evidence.

now youre just talking nonsense. science cannot just say anything at
all. the knowledge gained from practicing science must be consistent
across the boards. even with the lack of a definite conclusion, we can
rule out entire classes of "explanations" by appealing to the
consistency of the natural laws science discovers.

if this rips your security blanket belief in dead men getting up from
you., too bad. reality isnt here to please you.

You're talking nonsense. The fact that you appear to have missed some
limitations and double negatives doesn't bode well for your reading
comprehension. Let me translate for you:

As long as "science" presents supporting evidence, it can draw whatever
definite conclusions it likes.

it is you that is clueless. the above poster was clearly referring to
situations in which there is NO evidence. he thinks that if there is
no evidence, all claims are equally likely. he ignores the consistency
principle that holds.

I would add some more rules about that evidence, such as not picking and
choosing it, but that pretty much covers it.
