Hubert P. Yockey (Army Pulse Radiation Facility, Aberdeen Proving
Ground, Maryland, USA), 'A calculation of the probability of
spontaneous biogenesis by information theory'. Journal of Theoretical
Biology, vol. 67, 1977, p.396.

As Mike points out, this hasn't the slightest thing to do with evolution.

In a 1995 email (http://www.asa3.org/archive/evolution/199602/0125.html),
Yockey has this to say: BTW Creationists should take no pleasure in this
post. Evolution began after the origin of life. It is a demonstrated fact.
Many key enzymes occur every where in biology in a chain of evolution.
Information Theory
shows that is essentially a communication system and could not have
happened by chance. There is no scientific need for special creation,
especially 6000 years ago. Long live the memory and work of Charles
Darwin.

Many thanks for digging up this quote from Yockey himself. Can anyone
locate the paper (it might even be on line if the biologists have done what
the astronomers have done at ADS, Astrophysics Data System, and scanned
loads of old journals).

I have a copy. Alas, it doesn't seem to be on-line.
