would be a conclusion. I have frequently argued against

Yes...you simply argue against the conclusions of others....no matter
how strong their evidence, no matter how weak your objection.
To paraphrase....you do not assume that the mammalian
LCA had hair, yet you do not take the position that
it was hairless either....
Right. Why should I? I don't need to. There is nothing in
my life that requires an answer, so why bother? I might
as well try to remain as open as possible.
So, in other words, you are a coward. You take a position on nothing;
you simply ridicule those that are willing to take a stand and who
work to defend their position on an issue.
