What would be the farthest star we could see?

Using just the naked eye you would still be able to see just about all the stars you can make out individually in the night sky. Gone would be the almost all of the Milky way and all those galaxies other than our own that appear as a blurry smudge in the night sky. It would be a very different night sky than what we see.

I don't know what star would be the farthest visible one at <6000 ly. Even at this "short" range there are several thousand stars.

How far is it to the North star?

According to wiki's article on Polaris, it is at 430 +/- 30 ly.
