Nor are domesticatd pigs hairless. Relative to their wild relatives the
domesticated pig's hair is fine but you can still see it even a metre or
two away.
Ask anybody who's ever seen a pig on a farm.
You're correct, I have worked with pigs before and they do indeed have
fur, not much but they do.
But not any where near enough to protect themselves from sunburn, which
I am given to understand is one reason why pigs wallow in mud, which is
about SPF 1000 if applied liberally.
I wonder if it is just a freak side effect of our domestication of
them that has resulted in skin devoid of protective tannins.
