Uranium in no way contradicts Genesis. First of all, Genesis talks
about God's spirit hovering over "the waters" prior to when God said,
"Let there be light." In other words, the Bible makes it clear enough
that something was already there before God said "Let there be light."
The YECs tell us that when God said "Let there be light" this was the
very first thing created. To which I reply, what were "the waters"
doing there before what is supposed to be God's first creative act? In
my opinion, they are remnants of previous versions of Earth, which
most likely stretch back billions of years.

Secondly, if we accept the false premise that the Bible excludes an
Old Earth, God may have merely created the universe with an
"appearance" of age, without it actually being as old as it looks.

Why?

This is not "deception" because he may have had good reasons for doing
so. For example:

Q: how could the universe be only 6000 years old when it takes
starlight millions of light years to get here?
A: God could have created the stars with their light ALREADY reaching
here, since he knew starlight is beautiful and He wanted us to see it.

Not a good answer.

The exact same type of argument can be made against every old-universe
argument.

Only by fools.

God may have had perfectly legitimate reasons for making
everything look old.

Since gods are the invention of man...

However, I wish to repeat that I am not a YEC. I just see that God
could quite easily have made the universe with an APPEARANCE of age,
although I personally accept the idea that the earth is very old.

Here is an example of Old Earth Creationist Questions and Answers:

Q: how could the earth be only 6000 years old when we find fossil
bones that are older than that?
A: they are fossils from previous versions of Earth. It is only THIS
VERSION of the biosphere of the Earth which is 6000 years old.

And yet there is a continuation, no break. All populations of animals
alive 6,010 years ago were still alive 5,990 years ago - our own
population included.

Q: how could the earth be only 6000 years old when we know the half-
life of certain elements is much longer?
A: again, the actual planet Earth is billions of years old. It is only
THIS VERSION of the biosphere of earth that is young.

And yet our own documented history is older.

So why not start saying "Hitler liked Uranium" or "Uranium teaches it
is OK to be gay" ????

I heard Hitler turned gay because he poured uranium all over his Froot
Loops every morning. :)
