described as "flying reptiles"? Well, that's certainly
the way most of us learned it growing up.
Most of what I learned about ancient life when I was growing up turned
out to be wrong. I am sure that a great deal of what I hold to be true
now will one day be shown to be incorrect....this is what makes
science so fascinating....learning new stuff.
Anyhow, unless you're arguing that dinosaurs started
with something other than a reptilian skin, it seems
highly unlikely that it's all just coincidence.
I am arguing no such thing; in fact, I do not see the relevance. All I
stated was that it seems that the pterosaur hairs and dinosaur
feathers evolved independantly of one another. The appearance of hair
on pterosaurs does nothing to "muddle the picture" of feathers on
dinosaurs. Perhaps you feel that hair on mammals muddles the picture
also?
