Oh please. Look up the previous extensive posts on this topic and
you'll see that I spend a great time discussing the degree and type
of symmetry of irregularities that, when found in the material of
granite, give clear evidence of deliberate artifact - same as what
SETI scientists are looking for.
No, I'm asking you to be specific. Is there an algorithm we can use
to detect design? If so, what is it? What do I measure on the rock,
what algorithm do I feed it in to, and how do I interpret the results?
Be specific.
I have been specific. The greater the degree of symmetry of
irregularities the greater the odds that the origin of the granite
form is artifactual.
That's not specific.
You do know how to measure symmetry - right? One side is the same or
similar as the other to some degree of measure? There are several
different kinds of symmetry. All of them will work.
OK, pick one and tell me how to do it. You can assume the object is
a rock small enough to fit into a shoebox.
Also, tell me how to interpret the results.
Don't be vague; your fans are starting to think you don't actually
have a method for detecting design.
I've gone over all of this before with you in particular. But
whatever . . .
No, you're not even coming close to answering my question. I'm not
interested in hypothetical granite cubes, or what you think about
SETI, or any of that jazz. I want to know what your mechanism for
detecting design is.
Is there an algorithm for detecting design?
If so, how do I apply it to an arbitrary object, and how do I interpret
the output of the algorithm?
And does the algorithm rely on an information or complexity calculation?
(If not, why all this endless wrangling over it?)
I should snip this as irrelevant, but I'm leaving it in so everyone
can see how far your "answer" is from my question.
Say your shoebox can hold a granite rock that is a maximum of 10 cm in
greatest dimension. Pick whatever irregular features you want. It
doesn't have to be a cube if you don't like cubes. However, cubes
have eight clear surface irregularities. Lets say that the granite
rock in this particular example is in the form of a highly symmetrical
polished cube such that each surface point on the cube, as measured
from the center of gravity of the cube, is within 0.0000001 cm of the
distance to the exact opposite surface point on the cube. Now, lets
say that there are etchings on each one of the faces of the cube. The
etchings don't have to be that complex in appearance, but the more
complex or "random" in appearance the better. Such etchings are also
surface irregularities. Let's say that on one face of the cube there
is a carved geometric shape, lets say a triangle, who's center is
within 0.0000001 cm of the face's center. The triangles sides each
measure 0.1 cm to within 0.0000001 cm. Lets also say that this
triangle is carved to a depth of 0.1 cm to within 0.0000001 of a cm.
Now, lets say that a triangle is also carved into the opposing face of
the cube to the same specifications, except that it is upside down
relative to the triangle on the opposing face. Lets also say that
each of the other opposing faces also have identical geometric
carvings to the same specifications, except for being, say, a perfect
square and a perfect circle, each to within 0.0000001 cm.
If you found such an granite rock, even on an alien planet, would you
honestly not suspect artifactual manipulation? - even before having
met the aliens in question or before knowing how they actually
produced this granite form? - perhaps by cube-shaped sweat glands?
Please answer the question, or quit pretending you have a methodology
for detecting design.
