I'm using a stylus-operated Tablet PC - AND a trackball. I gesture
with the stylus not touching the screen - and it responds to the stylus
but not to touch (some have a touch option) - and with the other hand I
work the trackball left and right button. This is for a non-specific
disability in the RSI area; keyboard and mouse use give me severe pain,
probably from using up my lifetime allowance of comfortable computer
working ahead of time. For typing, I use the Fitaly on-screen keyboard
software.

So far I am lucky, no pain, just shakes and balky movements. My
greatest loss so far is Solitaire. I have passed many an hour with
that game. Of course, typing in newsgroups. Selecting material to
"cut" or "copy" is very awkward.

Glad you mentioned 2 hands. I was mad having to do that, but for now
it works. I can't believe I told my thumb to release the button and
it didn't move!

Microsoft Tablet PC also accepts speech input - I think Microsoft
Office Professional does as well - but I'm a programmer and I need to
be able to input like e=mc^2 which isn't very easy with speech. It's
also relatively slow, although that it works at all is objectively
amazing. Oh, and there's handwriting recognition in there as well,
both spelt out and cursive.

"Slow" seems to be the name of the game.

Have you tried using a Joy stick? My old one wasn't too bad, but not
mechanically smooth. I did a search, but I couldn't find any useful
information. My small town doesn't have any stores with computer
equipment. I buy backup parts from eBay and keep them in the garage.


MessagEase offers a larger target than Fitaly, but I already knew
Fitaly and also I don't like too many drags instead of clicks for
letters.

I play on an PC with W98se running about 1gb/sec. Any suggestions
besides patience? Any thought about Joy Sticks?

Must be a pisser to have problems while still in your creative years.

Bad enough in the "Pass-time" years.
