My apologies for rushing this post. I have just recalled that there was a
theory in which the original exemplars of kinds were created on certain
islands.

Your attempts to marginalize creationism are entertaining.

Are you serious that it should not be marginalized?

What possible benefit would there be for not marginalizing creationism?

Empirically unsound religious beliefs are the source of much that is wrong
with American politics. The DI, reactionary religious rightists in the
Republican party, millennialism, dominionism, and a moral denigration of those
who do not share fundamentalists religious beliefs are just part of the idiocy
of contemporary America society.

It is not unlike the stupidity of a belief in witches in the 1660's. For the
religious reactionaries that direct much of the Republican party policies the
contemporary witches are anybody who disagrees with them and particularly
liberals (yes I'm one). They allow "swift boating," "authoritarian
practices," "monitoring science policies to conform to their religious
beliefs," and various other undemocratic and incompetent political practices
because it conforms to their religious beliefs.

I know some of these people, some are relatives and they scare the hell out of
me! I don't want to live in a society that they control.

Amen. I am a liberal on most of the issues you brought up, too. OTOH,
throwing everything biblical out with the bath water is not the answer. A
lot of what's right with western culture came from religion, too--like
institutionalized charity which is based on the biblical idea of grace.
