Re: Age of Earth, 1952 opinion

But if it is only Earth crust which slips and corrects its position
against core slightly?

Then catastrophe would not be so big, but still considerable.

Can You Josephus calculate the effects on Earth rotation axes and
position of surface vs. stars ( what will change buy us looking at
them if we manage to live at the same place on surface after this
event)

of earth crust moving say 1 degree back in relation to core let us say
in 1 days time? In one weeks time?

Please.

Written texts are much less reliable than radiometric dating techniques.

Not so. The ancients kept records of stars and their movements and this
can be correlated using computers and known data about the stars. So it
is much more accurate than dating methods, which have been shown to be
inaccurate and contradictory.

This brings up an interesting side discussion. Many ancient cultures
kept records of any celestial peculiarities, lunar and solar eclipses
or comets, for example. How come all of the them failed to notice the
extra long day reported in the book of Joshua?

Hello:

Please see http://sunnyokanagan.com/joshua/index.html The Chinese did
record Joshua's long day. Moreover, sun miracles were observed many
times both in the Middle East and China for the same day. Thus giving
exact dates for events in the Bible.

Bwahahahahaha!

Is this your website? The author claims that Earth didn't stop rotating
(which has enough problems in itself), but that the sun started
revolving around the Earth for a few hours.

Bwahahahahahahahahahaha!

The planets would have been slung around like shots from a sling -
including the Earth - why would you think Earth's orbit would be
unaffected if the Sun moved to a different location?

Do you realize how fast it would have to move to be synchronized with
Earth's rotation? It's 149,000,000 km away. The sun alone would still
be reverbrating from all that. The ort cloud would be scattered to
Hell and back. The Earth could be alternately a frozen lump and having
its atmosphere boiled off.

And the evidence for this is a Chinese account that the sun went down
early on a specified data, a phrasing typically used by historians of
the time to desribe eclipses. What make syou think this was the date
Joshua entered Jericho? If you consult a real archaeologist, you'll
find out that Jericho's wall came tumblin' down several centuries
before Joshua was born.

Most archeologists think the Exodus was about 1280 BC. The exodus was
on the same day of the week, lunar month and Sothis date as the Sojourn
into Egypt. The Sojourn into Egypt was Friday April 3 2348 BC, Sothis
year 430. God promised Abraham not four generations, but he must have
rather said forty generations and a scribe omitted the last two
characters. 25 years to a generation X 40 = 1000 years and Moses was
80. If this was April 4 1279 BC this would be 1069 years later, the
same Egyptian Sothis date, the same day of the week and the same day of
the Egyptian lunar month. Then Israel was 40 years in the wilderness
and must have entered the promised land against Jericho April 12 1239
BC. Then the next February must be in 1238 BC and the Chinese see a
long sunset with Jupiter and Saturn and moon above and Mars Venus and
Mercury near the sun - all standing still for 12 hours. Then the sun
finally set and the stars came out and the five planets appear centered
around the constellation Fang.

That the archaeologist at Jericho said the walls came down about 1400
BC I think was made up. Hazor was destroyed about 1230 BC by most
accounts, thus Joshua must have crossed the river Jordan rather April
12 1239 BC and Joshua began the conquest of Canaan the next year
beginning with Joshua's long day.

This is the real thing. I have faith God the Creator of the Universe
can move the sun and planets around the earth safely and without a
trace. http://sunnyokanagan.com/joshua/index.html

If the earth slows, stops or just jiggles. the loose stuff, the water,
atmosphere and people would move very suddenly at approximatel 750 k/s
it would turn everything into hash and kill most everything alive not to
mention the heat. "GOD does not play dice with the universe." -- Einstein.

Hello:

Earth would continue to rotate at its normal rate. Only earth must
shift on the vertical 70 degrees clockwise by the next day.

it really is a matter of inertia. should the earth jiggle 1/2, 1/4 of
its radius will still churn the planet. Stopping the the orbit will
cause Venus to jiggle and wander. It is synchronized with the earth. in
fact there was an orrery ccalculation that left out the earth and Venus
left the solar system. oops.

Gravity
pulls on every atom equally.

that is not exactly right. it is the force between atoms. and

dr = G(me +mS)/R^2

all the rest I have heard in church. But it does not constitute proof
just belief.

So God could use gravity to pull the earth
around. I have faith that God could do this safely without a trace. The
fact that he did do it and there were no catastrophes shows that your
premise is wrong. There were high winds and earthquakes recorded by the
Chinese with this sun miracle and other like sun miracles as you would
expect from a real event.

and no you cannot point out catastrophes as proof of non catastrophe.

http://sunnyokanagan.com/joshua/wansdream.html . Nevertheless earth was
completely safe in God's hands.

Andrew Bennett

I think Andrew is confusing belief with proof. It makes him a
creationist. Biblical Inerrant version.
