I think at least one poster is 'addicted' to rate any post, even spam
post, in this NG.
It is good thing to rate good posts but rating bad posts is against
spirit of this feature.
The fact is that I do rate a lot of posts, but there is no aspect
of "addiction" to it, just my expressing an opinion. There are
a number of times that I've just clicked on a rating rather than
adding to the number of posts that are made in reply. Would
you prefer *more* messages a day in this group? I also use
the "report abuse" feature a LOT for the religion-spam, dating
Texas girls and MMF spam (where I toggle it to "illegal content").
I am certainly not alone in rating things here, however...
1) Who are you, anyway. to question my expressing an opinion?
2) Let's look at what the ratings are.....
Five stars = Excellent, I would recommend this post
Four stars = Above Average
Three stars = Average
Two stars = Below Average
One star = Poor, I would not recommend this post
OK.... Spam, *your* post above and much of what nashtOn writes
here seems to rate One Star. What is wrong with that? The system
obviously works well enough. Is there a gap in the rating that needs
to be filled somehow (apart from being able to put a "Zero" star
rating)? Are you trying to say that I *shouldn't* rate spam?
Does your off-topic self-righteous post above rate more than one star
in your eyes somehow? (And do I really give a damn if you think so?)
At this point your post has been rated "one star" seven times, so you
might wander away saying "I got seven stars from Talk.Origins for my
wise comments" and live a happy life.
Next time talk about evolution or argue against it or something.
