Debate one of these so-call "secularists" sometime. You'll notice
something sort of intersting.
However, "Logos" has never debated anyone. He just posts and runs.
You'll say that species have been intelligently designed. Then the
secularist, after sucking deep and hard on his inhaler, will cough back,
"Prove it!"
And does "Logos" prove it? See below:
Well, you think, it's just common sense, isn't it?
No, it's not. Appealing to "common sense" is hardly proof.
Then the secularist will stammer something about how evolution, using this
very restrictive and subjectively designed method, has been validated time
and again through hundreds of thousands of experiments.
What is "restrictive and subjectively designed" about evolution?
See the problem here?
No, and I don't think you do either.
Where's the room for individual opinion?
Individual opinion is fine, but don't expect to be taken seriously unless
you have the evidence to back up that opinion.
Where's the opportunity for individual thought?
Throughout the scientific method, there is plenty of oppurtunity for
"individual thought". But again, unless you have evidence, thoughts
themselves aren't worth much.
I thought in this country we were FREE TO CHOOSE!
You can choose whatever you want, but unless you have evidence to back up
your beliefs, no one is going to listen to you.
But if you want to be known as a secularist, you have to think the same,
act the same and say the same things as all the other secularists.
Do you mean by that, you have to accept reality?
Just because a group of arcane men in dark, shadowy university rooms have
conducted "experiments" (good luck ever trying to find out what those
experiements were)
Yeah, those scientific journals are Sooooooo hard to find in the library.
It's like they are published openly or something...
then we have to subjugate ourselves to their opinions. No questions
asked. Sort of like a religious hierarchy.
When was the last time the Pope's declarations were subjected to peer
review?
Well, some of us still demand freedom!
Great, go, be free. When you have evidence to back up your claims, maybe
someone will listen to you.
Some of us respect the individual!
Respect must be earned, and creationists have earned none.
We will think for ourselves and not be bullied by the hard sciences.
Yeah, jump off that cliff. Gravity is only a theory.
For us, science has to pass the "sniff" test: does this make sense?
Relativity, pshaw... Quantam mechanics, don't make me laugh... Boyle's law
doesn't apply to me......
Does it "seem" right? What impacts does this idea have on morality and
faith?
What impact on morality or faith does a scientific theory have? None,
unless one's faith, and sense of morality are so weak, or deranged that
reality is a threat. .
The secularists can't stand this. They hate free-spirited people. And
they have a ready collection of names and ad homs to throw at you if you
step out of line.
like "secularists", or "dark" , or "arcane", or bizzarely enough, implying
they have asthma?
DON'T BE BULLIED BY THE SCIENCE MEN!!!
Yeah, why should we need air to breathe? Why should we worry about
pressure, or gas exchange, or gravitational forces, or anything else. Flap
your arms and fly, don't be bullied by those aeronautical scientists who say
it's impossible. All ideas are equal.....
