happened to be reading 'the closing of the western mind' by charles
freeman. he quotes the roman emperor julian as saying that he didn't
think xtianity would be around long because xtians loved to fight each
other... which club or group we belong to further back than we can ever determoine.
That emporer was not too bright,
or perhaps he didn't know that we homo sapiens
were fighting each other back
and beyond The Stone Age
over which club or group we should belong to,
or which one we should attack next.
Our craving to club together for safety is instinctive,
much like all pack hunting animals
.
