I wouldn't hold my breath, Soren.

He's too busy begging the question to answer one. (that is, he wants to define "random" as "producing gibberish", so anyone who types something non-gibberish is not typing randomly, which proves random only produces gibberish. Boing!)

That's certainly the behavior I expect from mccoy in the future, yes, but I like to pretend that my opposition is reasonable. If I don't, my subconsciousness starts asking scary questions like "Is your time so unimportant that you can spend it debating known facts with the deliberately ignorant?" and I don't want to have to think about that.


Moreover, I should point out that I'm typing this in the dark and cannot in fact see my keyboard, and yet I'm still cruising along at about 75 words per minute. I guess that proves I'm an intelligence!

Personally, I have the sun in my eyes, but I know what you mean.

Allow me to just perform a quick experiment...

I'll type two letters in a row, randomly selected with closed eyes. Let's see how many of them become gibberish and how many of them contain complexity - however ill defined.

fl - Abbriviation of florida. Clearly, complex information.

fj - gibberish

ty - old danish for "tend." "De tyer til at slås." "They tend to fight."

dl - Commonly used abbreviation of "download." Clearly a sign of complexity

fl - Huh, it appeared again. Like before, "florida." Incidentally, the fact that this appeared _twice_ actually indicates a _low_ Kolmogorov complexity factor.

fu - gibberish

se - Abbreviation of "Sweden." Also danish for "see." "Se! En hund!" = "See! A Dog!" The fact that it codes for 2 meanings indicates a very high level of complexity.

gi - short form of danish "give." Japanese martial arts clothing. Abbreviation of General Infantry. All in all, a very complex 2-letter word. Created completely at random, I might add.
