Yes, it has been tried. If you remove a fish from water and bury him in
stones, he can't breathe and he can't move. Likewise, dropping him in a
vat of aged whiskey really tends to kill the fish and reduce his
swimming ability. So, we tried Vodka and under these diverse situations
the fish continued to swim badly or immediately die.

One anonymous researcher said, "Their failure is a great disappointment
to all of us who were told that we swim or drink like fishes".

This is supposed to be FUNNY and is probably poking fun at the notion that Dolphins are actually extremely smart animals, adding credence to the view that other animals exist that have "evolved" to be almost as intelligent as humans.
