Etymology:New Latin, from din- + -sauria
: a group of extinct reptiles widely distributed from the Triassic to
the Mesozoic initially differing little from the generalized

crocodilians but later becoming specialized for chiefly terrestrial
carnivorous or herbivorous modes of life into distinct bipedal and

Why do you quote this definition, when you say below that you disagree
with it?

I disagree about mixing taxonomic and descriptive material toogether.
But the definition you quote is mostly descriptive, not taxonomic.
