Actually, don't bother.
It's pretty obvious that there is *still* no answer to this very
simple question: Why reproduce by means of 2 individuals of a species
when it would be much more economical and less resource-intensive to
just reproduce asexually.
Actually if you read at all, even just Internet pop science sites you will
see that in the last year or so several answers have been given.
As with many things the intense use of resources pay off.
If you've ever seen a hawk hovering in the air you have seen a huge drain on
resources, but it apparently ups the success rate and nets a positive gain.
And certainly hummingbirds seem to still be alive.
