No, they are not. They cannot threaten anybody any distance from them.
Only Pakistan and Israel are at all threatened by any weapons they might
have.

i always wonder how folks who make this conclusion arrive at it.

afghanistan had

0 missiles
0 ship
0 planes

in its inventory. on 9/11/01 it murdered 3000 americans

so tell me again how you arrived at your conclusion.

Well, for starts you've changed the topic of discussion from Iran to
Afghanistan. For seconds, the missiles/ships/planes in Afghanistan's
possession (let alone Iran's!) were not what killed 3000 USAians. It
was OBL, his cronies, and the suicidal nutcases they recruited for the
job.

and the world sees it in a favorable
light. who can know why? it's irrational.

Really? They are afraid of a country that is out of control (the USA)
because we have a President who ignores everybody except his panel of
yes-men. How is this irrational?

irrelevant. that's the problem with moral equivalence theory: it leads
to dead ends like this.

No, the problem is that some people want to grandstand about the evils
others are doing while dismissing their own as irrelevant.

so you think the UK, france, canada, etc. think the US is going to
attack them? because those folks are certainly afraid of the iranians.

So what's your argument? Should we invade anyone that someone is
afraid of?

[Note, it has come out recently that the President habitually blocks
enforcement of any domestic laws he does not like, even after he signs
them into law].

which is true. i'm not here to defend bush. so the comment is
irrelevant.

It goes a long way toward explaining why international politics is
spinning out of control, with the risk of WWII looming larger than it
has for over fourty years. We need to insist on the rule of law on
our side, as well as on the other side.
