Interestingly enough that would be obsidian.
Obsidian is volcanic glass. It's not burnt rock.
If you take sand and burn it it turns to glass.
Wrong again, doofus. Sand does not burn.
No matter how you define it, Tweedy, you make it very hot and it turns
to glass.
The same goes for
granite.
Granite is an igneous rock, you fool.
Then why does it turn glassy like obsidian when made very hot? Explain
it to me.
You can take granite, burn it and it turns glassy, like
obsidian.
Where did you get that idea, you moron? Granite does not burn, it's
igneous rock already.
http://uts.cc.utexas.edu/~rmr/definition.html
That's how they define it but in hot temperatures it still turns to
glass. This is probably the best kept secret in geology.
The tremendous amount of
heat from the big bang meant that everythign would be melted like
obsidian.
The earth didn't form directly out of the Big Bang, moron. It formed
out
of a gas cloud at the time the sun formed. The Big Bang happened some 9
billion years earlier.
The theory goes that the big bang occurred and out shot all the
galaxies, and per some of the suns that shot out came forth planets.
Wrong again doofus. Stars and galaxies did not form out of the Big Bang.
The formation of stars and galaxies occured later.
Wrong again. We're not talking about "when" or "where" the stars and
galaxies formed, but from where the substance that formed the stars had
come, the big bang.
Our solar system formed
out of gas from previous supernovas. There was no "suns that shot out".
Try to learn something about what you are talking about:
http://www.scienceandreason.net/oq/oq-co008.htm
http://cosmology.berkeley.edu/Education/IUP/Big_Bang_Primer.html
It makes no difference as to how you define it. The matter that came
out of the big bang was tremendously hot. And a portion of this would
eventually become the sun. So what is your point?
These molten planets cooled down and solidified.
The planets in our solar system came from a planetary nebula, out of which
the sun formed.
http://www.windows.ucar.edu/tour/link=/our_solar_system/formation.html
Which originated out of the big bang.
Hence, Faraday figured
that if he could find out the rate of the cooling of the earth he could
figure out the beginning.
If so, he was wrong. Radioactive decay maintains the heat inside the Earth.
And of course some would contend that there
is radiation in the earth to keep the planets warm under the ground.
"Some" would be any competent geologist.
But in either case the claim is made that the earth was molten at one
time and solidified.
Yes, some 9 billion years after the Big Bang. Igneous rock from that time
was exposed to the Earth's atmosphere, and such became sedimentary rock.
So then all rock should look like glass. Because everything was melted
at extreme temperatures. It's that simple.
Another theory,
Do you mean WAG?
one that you alluded to is that
there was a gas cloud.
That's how the solar system formed, some 9 billion years after the Big
Bang....
And you stopped short there because this gas
consolidates and becomes hot.
I didn't "stop short" anywhere. The earth formed out of the solar nebula,
not the "Big Bang".
This would allow the mass to become
spherical.
Gravity causes the mass to become spherical.
And of course this mass would be molten hot, and glassy when
cooled.
And when exposed to millions of years of atmosphere, it becomes sedimentary
rock.
There's no proof of that. It's just your assertion.
Limestone, for example comes from the remains of living things, so
it didn't form untill after the Earth had cooled enough for life to form.
But everything would have been burnt black like obsidian, so how could
life form in the first place?
3. Marble is a metamorphic rock that came from Limestone, a
sedimentary
rock.
4. Limestone wasn't formed until well after the Earth had already
cooled.
Interestingly everything would have been melted.
Not after the earth cooled, moron. The earth was molten when it first
solidified, but after it cooled, weathering began, and sediment was
formed.
Limestone could not have formed until long after the earth had cooled.
Everything would be like obsidian.
No, you moron, it would not.
It would be black like obsidian. If you take any rock it would look
that molten stuff you see coming out of volcanoes.
It would be like igneous rock, which only a
portion is obsidian. Weathering breaks down igneous rock and
transportation by water and wind deposits it, and makes it become
sedimentary rock. Metamorphic rock is when heat and pressure change the
chemical make up of the sedimentary rock. All this is very, very, basic
geology.
But if you apply tremendous amounts of heat to metamorphic rock it
turns black and glassy.

No, idiot, Marble is Calcium Carbonate. CaCO3 Gypsum is Calcium
Sulphate
Dihydrate CaSO4-2H2O Gypsum is not the result of burning marble.
Marble
does not burn.
Doh! You've answered while truncating my argument in half.
Either way, you are wrong.
Gypsum is
formed by burning in the presence of sulphur.
Heating limestone in the presence of sulfur, you moron. Not Marble, not
"burning".
In the presence of
sulphur. That accounts for the SO that you see in the formula. And you
can burn gypsum.
No, moron, you can't burn gypsum, It's used for fireproofing you idiot.
Sorry about that, but the little story about a big
bang or hot molten earth is not true.
Because you are totally ignorant of geology, and chemistry? Not hardly.
Have you read the story of the
Three Bears or something of that sort lately? You can group that
theory with embryo gill slits and molten earths.
Do you enjoy displaying your ignorance to the whole world? Nothing you
have stated is even remotely correct, and your knowlege of chemistry and
geology is laughable.
