Temperature measurements, mainly.
Interestingly, to me at least, is that the surface temperature record are
perhaps the weakest line of evidence. Or maybe that's more a statement
of what I find most persuasive. For individual lines of evidence, I
prefer borehole temperatures, glacial retreat, sea ice retreat, changes
in growing season, migrations of species, tree rings, stable isotopes,
permafrost depth and thickness, ...
But the truly persuasive part is that with these multiple lines
of evidence, each of which has different sources of error, all of
them point the same direction.
After all, we are still leaving the ice ages,
