Global warming deniers

I understand why some people wish to deny evolution; they feel it
threatens their religion. But I am puzzled by people who deny global
warming. What is their motivation?

Are they unnaturally fond of their large polluting pickup trucks with
Yosemitie Sams on the mud flaps? Do they hate people in hurricane
prone areas? Do they dislike penguins or glaciers?
