What is the probability of abiogenesis on any given planet or moon that
has water?

p(a) >= 3.1416{[p(hc)^2 x p(ov)^(-1/2)] + [p(hc)^(-1/2) x p(ov)^2]}

where p(a) is the probablility of abiogenesis

We currently have a sample size = 1. Probability assessments on the
basis of a single sample are impossible.

Sample size is relevant only in calculating the predicted p(a). The
above calculation is purely theoretical.

Those who question my mental stability, if unlicensed, are imposters.

All the best, GH

We _can_ say that the probability of abiogenesis of life like our own
on a planet that does _not_ have liquid water is zero. But SeppoP's
inequality (p is greater than zero) is the only accurate statement we
can make for planets that _do_ have water.

We might double our sample size soon if it turns out that there is life
on Enceladus, but for now, it's speculation.

Well, instead of solely examining a population of planets and moons
(which is a good idea), we could also evaluate abiogenesis lab
experiments.

The problem with most lab experiments is that they haven't been
running for a billion years. Time is a pretty important factor in
these things.
