being elected president?
Seeing your girlfriend put on her newlywed sister's engagement
ring and admiring it on her hand. AAACCKKKK!!!!
question.
It doesn't hurt as much as you might think, you can even bring a
tear to her eye and if you do it well you will be well rewarded.
It is also fun to involve others - ask the sister if her ring
size was a good fit for the sister. Be very proper and go ask
her parents if they think this is a good step for the two of
you. Get a dinner party planned with a couple of your friends
and their girlfriends who know to clear out for a short time so
you can ask - be sure the manager of the restaurant is in on it,
too. You are the hunter and the game is in your sights, the gun
is loaded and the safety off - so take the shot!

and find a hermit hut somewhere up in the hills, with the wire

the sharp, pointy things, and the don't hurt me...
Ok... OK... OK Already!
I shall confess....
Back in my grad school days at Stanford, playing on the
volleyball courts behind the gym and in Menlo Park pickup
games, an older player told me in very clear terms that his
advice was to stay single until I was well into my 40's.
(I was 26 at the time.)
I did that. I was given advice and I took it. And it worked.
(Blokes are better able to do this than the sheilas.)
(slightly off topic, but a bloke would understand)

Of course, having kids in primary school when you reach
your mid-fifties gets the question from time to time if they
are your grandchildren. (Then again most of the other kids
have mums who are in their mid- to late-20's.)

to raise them and when you are in your 30s, you are still in touch
with Yoof Kultcha or whatever they call it these days. Then, when
you are in your fifties, you have a friend who happens to be your
son or daughter, and who can help raise any other sprogs you may
have engendered along the way, and who can also clean out your
gutters when you are too arthritic, drunk or lazy to do it yourself.
Anything but having teenagers when you are over fifty, anything.
It works well if you have you kids in your early twenties too. If I
want help with work around the house I call on my daughter and then
send her home when she's done. If I want to have fun I call on my
grandson and then send him home when I tire.
I'm never too arthritic to do manual labour because the alcohol
always kills the pain. I'm never too drunk to tell my daughter what
needs to be done and how to do it. It's a win-win situation.
Any time John. I'll have my daughter pick you up at the airport.
My grandson will carry your bags.

Science rationally modifies a theory to fit evidence, creationism
emotionally modifies evidence to fit a specific interpretation of the
bible.
