Sure, but if a poster posts an article without other comment, the most
reasonable assumption is that he/she endorses the subject matter and is
posting it to spread it. If Jason is just posting articles he finds
interesting, that's no problem. I'll keep it in mind for the future.

Indeed. Yours was a reasonable mistake to make as a new reader of the
newsgroup and you are not the first to innocently jump to this conclusion.

However, this reminds me that when I started reading usenet a decade or
so ago, the standard advice was to lurk in a newsgroup for a month
before posting, to get a feel for the group's culture and characters -
for example to spot Jason's postings.

I'm sure that if you continue to hang out here, you'll enjoy the service
Jason provides - I appreciate the effort he must put in to keep me informed.
