Public school started pushing evolution when I was in 6th grade. There
was never any suggestion that any other explanation was possible. Year
after year, straight from the textbook without commentary or debate, it
was shoved down our collective throats. I was always a Socratic
student, so I resented the absence of open discussion and was forced to
find the topic dry, unimaginative and narrow minded, because that's how
it was presented.
