However, it would have something to say about god(s) if there was a
need for such a being to exist in order to explain the universe or
some aspect thereof.

Anything that exists would be the subject of science.

I do not believe anything transcends physical matter and/or the laws
of nature - therefor nonsensical is the only answer.
