Did he? Swear on a bible? You sure?

I've testified in numerous court cases both criminal and civil, two
such at the federal level. You do swear an oath, but to the court. I've
never seen the bible used. I understand that the practice varies from
place to place, so did Judge Jones use it? I also understand that you
are *not* obliged to swear on the bible anywhere in the U.S. even if it
is the custom in any particular court. You are obliged to swear an oath
only to the court.

Did Buckingham really swear on the bible? That's too rich, if true.
