For a lesson on tooth evolution, see
http://www.palaeos.com/Vertebrates/Bones/Teeth/Teeth.html
Are bones derived from odontodes? Teeth and scales, plus their
derivatives, are.
Tooth structure is very different from bone structure. Yes there are
canals in dentine, but they are different from those in bone. Yes,
teeth and bone both contain hydroxyapatite. Both also contain
protein. Do you want to base a similarity on that point? Yes, there
are "blast" cell which are involved in tooth formation, but
odontoblasts and ameloblasts are not the same as osteoblasts and
osteoclasts. Yes, there are adaptation and restructuring processes in
both tooth and in bone so they can respond to external forces, but the
processes are quite different.
We and our ilk would say anything to discredit our opponents provided
the things we say are facts buttressed by large amounts of scientific
analysis. These antics most definitely do cut it here, except for
those whose knowledge is based other than on careful observation,
experimentation, and rational thought. The ones the end up looking
like blithering fools are quite the opposite of what you suggest.
