I vaguely remember reading something about an experiment conducted by
James Randi - aka The Amazing Rrandi - years ago. IIRC he hired an
actor who pretended to be some sort of mystic seer. Not surprisingly,
he managed to influence a following of believers. Yet when Randi
exposed the whole charade as an experiment in (I think) mass beliefs
the "converts" refused to believe it was a hoax - even after the actor
corroborated everything.
Does this ring a bell? Anyone remember the exact details?
Anyone,...anyone, Bueller...Bueller?.....
Cheers,
