Now that I got my usual "registration" complaint out of the way, I have

Note, I have no fantasy that it will accomplish anything significant.
But if it makes a few politicians and sensationalist media types a bit
uncomfortable by the association, it's worth it.
Oh, and before I get flamed, it is certainly not all of "the left" that
thinks that way.
