However, I do not think this really speaks against clovis hunting being
a factor. Prior to Clovis, humans appear to have been fairly sparse in
NA, and not to have emphasized hunting. The Clovis people were the
first major, widespread hunting culture in NA.
I suspect that the earlier peoples had subsisted on largely coastal and
lacustrine resources (fish, shellfish &c).
