'Thousands of different denominations and sects call themselves
Christian and many of them condemn other denominations and sects that
call themselves Christians as not being Christian. Wouldn't a God that
actually wants people to understand Him make certain that there was no
such disagreement about what He wants?'
REPLY: ALL of the Christian denominations at least agree on the Main
tenets of the historic Christian Faith :
1. Jesus is the Messiah, Saviour of the world. The Son of God.
2. There is a personal Theistic Creator for this universe.
3. Jesus died on the cross to link us to God by paying our sin debt.
4. Christ rose from the dead beating death and proving who he said he
was : The Creator.
5. The Bible is the authortative word of God .
Its not Gods fault for the less important differences ...its Mans
fallable nature that causes divisions . Within atheism..there are some
divisions also ; there are some who believe its important to be moral
and try to do so, and there are some who dont. There are some who
believe that so long as two people consent that even adultery is
ok...and there are some who still know that adultery is always wrong.
There are some who go out of their way to have crosses taken down from
village Water Towers at Christmas time, and there are some who say they
have thier right to put it up if they want.
So, it works both ways for the Christian Faith and for (alleged)
atheism.
