Perhaps the error is in attempting to 'argue' with
believers in the first place. They have no facts
with which to argue with, only baseless assertions.

They may attempt to use those assertions as axioms
in 'logical' argument, but the logical process is
useless if your facts and premises are wrong or 'soft'.
They offer the 'look and feel' of a logical argument
but it's NOT one.

The faithful do not need facts, the faithful do not
need logic. They only have to BELIEVE. No sort of
argument by unbelievers or evolutionists can ever
prevail against blind faith. Instead of wasting
time trying to 'convert' them, simply state your
case, your beliefs, your evidence for the record
and move on to more productive activities.

If you're in a foul state of mind, you can always
counter by trying to covert them to Buddhism or
some unusual religion. Dave Berry once remarked
that people eager to tell you all about their
religion rarely want to hear about yours. Meet
religion with religion and you'll frustrate
them no end.
