Has anyone ever run across a diagram showing the development and
relationships of world religions? Something along the lines of a diagram
showing when they developed, what previous (if any) religion they split

doing some searching but I've not been able to turn upanything yet.
Fat chance. I have seen scholarly books tracing Indian religious ideas, 60
volumes. A lot of religions, we simply don't much about.
Early bible ideas owe a lot to mythologies of El, see the Nuzi tablets, but
the YWH additions that came to dominate Judaism we have almost nothing
about. Making a diagram is not going to be easy.
Some of it is not about religion, its about philosophy, neo-platonism
and Stoicism were deeply influental in many ways, as were Plato and
Artistotle. Orpheic religion seems to have underlay the speculations
of some very early Greek philosphers.
Nothing is clean enough for a diagram or tree.
