Previous species, like the dinosaurs lasted for hundreds of millions
of years.
No. First of all, dinosaurs are not a species. While the great group
dinosaurs did last many millions of years, individual species did not. Few
species last longer than 1 or 2 million years.
Their demise caused by changes brought about by events
uncaused by their acts.
No. There is good reason to believe that changes in distributions and
resultant new vectors for disease played a significant role. Certainly
local extinctions are caused when population goes above carrying capacity.
Organisms most certainly do play a role in that. But I will grant that
often extinction is random.
Actually man is not doing anything to cause
changes that man will not be able to do.
That doesn't even make sense, but I take it to mean that man can't screw
anything up that man can't fix. That's just stupid.
Smaller population is probable, as life span increases, births will
also wane.
Based on what?
A much warmer climate, will result in more rain and deserts will
become less dry.
No. Many areas will (and in many cases already are) become much drier.
