Yes, he's been getting more and more desperate with the insults, bad
language (although I'll admit I've been at those points myself at times),
the snipping of citations that show him wrong, snipping down to one line of
a post and taking it out of context, changing the subject or even just
completely ignoring what's being said (the latter things I do try to avoid
and don't conciously do although I won't say I've never done them.)

Owing to our egotisms, we're all hesitant to frankly concede defeat in
a discussion, aren't we?
But there's a limit beyond which one is beginning to make a fool of
oneself, if one still doesn't admit being wrong.
