Well, I'd even go  so far as to suggest that we  have no reason to
suppose it's /not/ possible.

But nobody's  seriously proposing  any such gods. Further,  from a
religious  standpoint...well,  such a  god  would  be of  no  more
ultimate significance  than David  Copperfield playing tin  god to
a  back-bush  tribe. And religion,  having  tasted  the fruits  of
ultimate significance, can never go back.

Besides, there's no evidence that any such hyperintelligent shades
of blue exist--let alone that  there're any in our neighborhood or
that they'd even notice us if they do exist.
