Veterans Day Poem #21, Truth of War
Truth Of War
The look of fear in their eyes,
through it all they heard no lies,
the truth had been the bullet shell,
for the men who'd been through hell,
they'd been brave, but still had fear,
for what could be lying near,
the night had stolen men of war,
still wanting to claim a few more,
a world of peace we must make,
how much bloodshed will it take?
