I agree 100% with Rita, in that, now that our children are adults, I
compliment them when they well deserve it, and keep my mouth tightly
shut,when they goof!!
It makes for a wonderful relationship.
My son, the shrink, tells me that, no matter what I say- orrdon't say -
he can tell how I really feel!!!! He is mistaken!! but that is nice to
hear - I think?!
The other one's ego is not as solid as the older one's, and so I make
sure to zip my lips. BUT - the problem is that, when I do, they both
-knowingly - smile - smirk - and, sometimes, give me a hug, since they
know darn well when I disapprove. The very silence is eloquent, plus my
past recore (!!) it is really hilarious.
