I used to use cream and brown sugar. The little dark flecks left in
the bottom of the bowl didn't bother me as much as it did my mother.

Why hell - the moisture has to cling to something before it can
freeze and make serious snow.
My mother bought ice cream at the food store or creamery,
so we were never tempted to eat snow unless we were thirsty
while playing hockey.
