Evelyn - you cannot be serious - to compare Guantanamo to a
concentration camp. At Guantanamo, they get exercise time, they walk
around (guarded), they get a Bible,etc.etc.etc. a nd they are quite well
fed. Have you any idea what goes on in a concentration camp?. Well, I
do. Many of my relatives died in some of them, and one of them, my Aunt,
who spent two years in a major concentration camp, told me about her
life there - and compared to that, Guantanamo is like the Hilton - and I
am NOT exaggerating.
Olly

It is an American concentration camp. Sure they get food and exercise.....
We ourselves are not starving, so our prisoners get to eat too. But they
are not with their families, they have no recourse to legal process, and to
all intents and purposes they have been forgotten to the world.

It isn't Auschwitz, that is for sure, but the horrible thing is that WE are
their jailers. I never thought this country would stoop to that sort of
thing.

And the worst of it is that there is no legal process to prove their
guilt or lack of same in whatever they were put there for. They were
just scooped up and sent there. Prisoners of war are released when a
war ends. But seemingly we have now invented a "war on terror" with
no end point. Prisoners of war can get mail. Guantanamo inmates
can't. They are cut off from family and in some kind of eternal
limbo. They are given lawyers but the lawyers do not have access to
the evidence against their clients -- it is said to be "classified."

That is despicable.

This country's founders would be sick to know what has become of us.
