Re: What's your 'hood like (census demographics)

AndyS,

Did you get some bad weather yesterday? It just barely clipped us here in
SE Montague County. We really needed a good rain but missed it again,
having in some way angered the rain gods.

How cheap is your land? I paid $1250 an acre about 9 years ago. Now it's
at least 3 times that amount - still cheap compared to other areas.

Andy replies to Nancy,

Yeah, we got some rain.....I went out and spread a sack of lime
over
my garden and just as I finished the rain started...... I love it when
that
happens....

Land here, well, I have about 1.5 acres with 170 feet of shoreline
and
about 200 feet or so of highway, and a great view. I paid around 43K
five
years ago. The lot next door is on the market for around 85 K, but is
appraised
at around 55 K..... Across the road from me, with no lake access, one
can
buy 5 acres for about 30K. Roads, electric, phone and water are all
in
now. This isn't a bad price for a lot on a big big lake..... with
330 miles
of shoreline..... And, unlike Lake Dallas and others, we actually own
it to the
waterline and can build docks and stuff.....

So, I'll say that non-lakeshore lots here are around $6K per
acre....

It sounds like you are living out in the country on some acreage
somewhere.
Still $1250 /acre is a good price, and three times that is still great
if you have
highway access and water and electric......

I guess that most readers are talking about dollars per square foot
while
we are talking about acres and hectares..... A different world, for
most
folks.....

Do you have animals ?????
