If I'd had a gun at the office and chute to dispose of the carcasses, there
would have been a lot less lazy freeloaders around.
Very few of those seeking benefits were legitimately deserving.
We had to go out and beat the bushes to find elderly, disabled and
otherwise eligible clients. They were the ones that hated to ask for
help.

I had a close friend who did social work for 15 years and got so
burned out she became suspect of everyone who applied. She even
suspected some of the elderly of having hidden money in some unnamed
bank. She finally quit that and said it was the best thing she ever
did.
