Hi Justine,

In my old age I find that the effects of an occasional cocktail wear off
readily, whereas pot seemed to have lingering effects. I was a bookkeeper
and needed to be able to tally a column of figures and get the same total
twice in a row. I don't really like the feeling of not being at "the top of
my game".... and in this world we all need our wits about us as much of the
time as possible. Life calls for it. But there are still different
strokes for different folks, and every palliative has its drawbacks. There
are those for whom even a single glass of wine with dinner is sheer poison.
Balance and clear judgement are always recommended. To each their own way.
I can't say mine is better for all, it is just better for me.

While on my recent vacation I smoked pot one evening and
every...single...bit of my pain went away. If I knew someone in this
town who sold it you bet your boots I would get some. Being without
pain is sheer heaven. For those of you in this group with
fibromyalgia, wouldn't you love to run up a flight of stairs again? Or
just walk across the room like a normal person? I would.

It is possible to find decent weed almost anywhere.
But you'd have to ask younger people or aging hippies.
Many, many people find their pain relieved with smoke.
And they DON'T turn into the fiends of old movie myth.

Back when I was younger and smoked it, I never had much pain of any kind. Now is another story. If I get an opportunity I will try it. I could use a break from fibro about now. :-)

You'll find it especially wonderful if you 'really' need to get a good night
of restful sleep.
